China, 1971. The Communist Cultural Revolution is in full swing. San Francisco, 1989. The city by the bay is on the brink of a cultural revolution of its own. The name of the game is BASKETBALL. Beijing University’s Coach Wen Chang is the quiet, efficient Tim Duncan-esque Party supporter, and Manford is a young, sparky kid from SF’s Chinatown, vertically challenged, yet graced with undeniable BALLER SKILL. As the story leaps back and forth in time, Wen Chang and Manford play the game, facing unimaginable CULTURAL BARRIERS and as they circle ever closer to one another, an undeniable truth is revealed: That sometimes there’s more to life than MAKING THE SHOT.

Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour

Legendary songwriter, recording artist, and performer Paul Simon, will embark on his farewell concert tour on May 16. Homeward Bound – The Farewell Tour will encompass shows across North America, the United Kingdom, and Europe, with Simon and his band bringing to the stage a stunning, career-spanning repertoire of timeless hits and classic songs which have permeated and influenced popular culture for generations.

According to Simon, the Homeward Bound tour is a fitting culmination of a performing career that began in the early 1960s and has coincided with his artistic journey as a songwriter and recording artist until the present day.

He said of this farewell tour, “I’ve often wondered what it would feel like to reach the point where I’d consider bringing my performing career to a natural end. Now I know: it feels a little unsettling, a touch exhilarating and something of a relief. I love making music, my voice is still strong, and my band is a tight, extraordinary group of gifted musicians. I think about music constantly. I am very grateful for a fulfilling career and, of course, most of all to the audiences who heard something in my music that touched their hearts.”

FROM APPARENT TO ABSTRACT, LOVE REVEALS DIVERSE FACES IN THIS FOUR-PACK OF CONTEMPORARY HITS. Water is thematic in Christopher Wheeldon’s undulating Tide Harmonic as well as his divine After the Rain pas de deux. Appassionata, Benjamin Millepied’s tempestuous and tender work for three couples, makes a welcome return as does Justin Peck’s delightful Year of the Rabbit, an exhilarating rush to the music of Sufjan Stevens.
