Mardi Gras is one huge celebration that originated in New Orleans but has taken the world by storm. Some of the most widely known Mardi Gras celebrations are held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Quebec City, Canada. Can’t make it all the way across the map to join in on the festivities? Don’t worry; we’ve got you covered! February 17th through February 21st Toulouse Petit is bringing Carnival Season to Seattle!

To make sure we’re in the Carnival spirit, we’re combining all of the essential Mardi Gras elements into one five-day-long celebration. Nothing says New Orleans more than scrumptious food and jazz, right? We’ve got it! For three days during our celebration you can come enjoy delicious lunch and support Seattle’s very own jazz musician Paul Kemmish Jazz Trio.

That’s not all though, there will be plenty more music and food throughout the week! We will be hosting events ranging from a Winemaker Dinner with Sparkman Cellars and Boudreaux Cellars to a Mardi Gras Commencement Brunch with The Market Street Dixieland Jass Band followed by street music and entertainment!

If that doesn’t sound like a bash in itself, we’re also hosting a couple parties and giving away prizes. Krewes run the streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras, so we’re taking some of their flair and making it our own at our New Orleans Finery Masquerade Ball. And staying true to tradition, we will be hosting a Dirty South Industry Party at which we’re crowning “Mr. & Mrs. Crunk” at midnight and giving them a trip to Las Vegas! On Monday, 4 bartenders from the Seattle area will compete in our 2nd Annual Bartender Showdown for a trip to Portland, Oregon.

Come join us in bringing in Carnival Season with a blast! The food will be delicious, the music will be delectable, the parties will be outrageous, and in case it needs to be said… the drinks will be plentiful! Take a look at our Mardi Gras Schedule below or on our Facebook page.

The year 2012 is upon us and Toulouse Petit is busy prepping its New Orleans fare and stocking the finest bubbly! Toulouse Petit is teaming up with The Maxwell Hotel to create a one-of-a-kind Queen Ann New Year’s Eve experience.

Celebrate Your Way

Many of you already have some plans for the big night, but are they complete? If not, catch an early dinner between 5pm and 8pm before you meet up with friends! But most importantly, no need to worry about finding your way home when the fun is over. Wake up in 2012 in the heart of Queen Anne. No need to worry about fighting traffic with this exclusive package.

The Big Easy New Year’s Eve Package

Picture your evening going a little something like this…

1. You and your beloved arrive at the lovely Maxwell Hotel in Queen Anne where a chilled bottle of champagne awaits you.

2. Now that you are ready to take on the evening, a shuttle whisks the two of you off to Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge where you each design your meal from a beautiful 3-course menu while enjoying a glass of Vueve Clicquot.

3. Once your bellies are full and your hearts are content, you decide to take a stroll over to the Space Needle to enjoy the live fireworks display and festivities.

4. Wherever the night takes you and whenever your adventure dies down, hop in a cab and make your way back to the hotel.

Want to know where to find a beignet in Seattle? We’ve got them…good ones even. These pillows of fried, sugary goodness have been compared to a classic beignet you would get from the one and only ‘Café Du Monde’ in New Orleans. Introducing beignets from Toulouse Petit…it’s about time Seattle!

For those Seattleites out there who have no idea what I’, close your eyes and place yourself in a café in the French Quarter. Listen to the soothing saxophone as you inhale slowly. Smell the comfort…the sweet and savory New Orleans delicacy that is the beignet. Golden crispy on the outside and tender in the middle, these powdered sugar-dusted delights instantly melt in your mouth. For those of you who have never experienced such elegance, think of an elephant ear at a carnival, a sopapilla at a Mexican restaurant, a funnel cake at a fair. Take that light pastry concept, add a little fluff, a lot of perfection, and…Voila!
Paired with Toulouse Petit’s chicory anglaise, a coffee infused cream for dipping; this dessert is truly a treat. Order it with a cup of Fonte French Press coffee to add a little Northwest buzz to your New Orleans experience.

Toulouse Petit Kitchen & Lounge is a New Orleans style restaurant located in the heart of lower Queen Anne. The cuisine and ambiance serve up an authentic ‘Big-Easy’ vibe. Known for their breakfast happy hour, artisan cocktails, and beignets; Toulouse Petit has been recognized both locally and nationally.

So, if you were looking for beignets in Seattle, give Toulouse Petit a try. Whether you are a New Orleans native or a proud Seattleite, let us know what you think by leaving a comment below or on our Facebook page!
